Inverary Castle, Scotland, was the seat of Chief of Clan Campbell, Duke of Argyll. The original castle was built in the 1400's but the current structure was built in the 1700's. The interior of the castle is quite elaborate & includes a State Dining Room with the only surviving work of French painters Girard & Guinard... & the Armoury Hall displays weapons dating from 1740. It is believed to be haunted by the "ghost of a harpist who was hanged in 1644 for peeping at the lady of the house."
Dunluce Castle is a now-ruined medieval castle in Northern Ireland. It is located on the edge of a basalt outcropping in County Antrim, and is accessible via a bridge connecting it to the mainland. The castle is surrounded by extremely steep drops on either side, which may have been an important factor to the early Christians and Vikings who were drawn to this place where an early Irish fort once stood.
