In the Fall of 2012 we sponsored a new outreach and support program for students: Paws for Finals. This program will allow students to interact with registered therapy dogs as a means of reducing the stress and anxiety that final exams can induce. UT Arlington launches digital humanities project to document oral histories of military veterans and their families.
The 6th floor will be closed for the summer due to life-safety construction (they're putting in sprinklers). Special Collections will be posting pictures during the process on their flickr stream here.

UT Arlington Library is one of 840 libraries and state humanities councils across the country selected to receive the Bridging Cultures Bookshelf: Muslim Journeys from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the American Library Association (ALA). The program aims to familiarize public audiences in the United States with the people, places, history, faith and cultures of Muslims in the United States and around the world.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the UT Arlington Library the inaugural theme of "The Maverick Lens" is "Views from the Library". We invite all photographers of the UT Arlington community to interpret and submit work, in any photographic media, on this theme. Show us your View from the Library!
Mapping Happiness: Identifying the Happiest Places on Earth February 14, 3 - 5pm
Special Collections at the Library hosts 2 exhibits a year. The current one titled "Pearls of the Antilles: Printed Maps of Caribbean Islands" runs through Feb. 9, 2013.
