Vishnu’s role is to return to the earth in troubled times and restore the balance of good and evil. He has been incarnated nine times, but Hindus believe that he will be reincarnated one last time close to the end of this world. Lord Vishnu represents the aspect of the Supreme Reality that preserves and sustains the universe. He is generally symbolized by a human body with four arms. In His hands He carries a conch (shankha), a mace (gada), and discus (chakra).
