Katelyn | Cake Art, Design & Decoration 🇦🇺 on Instagram: "A HOW-TO GUIDE on how to ANGLE your piping tip for the perfect rose! I often find that the no. 1 grievance from those trying to attempt piping flowers is that the buttercream just WON’T go where they want it to go and that their roses don’t look natural. But here’s the thing though - YOU are the boss of how that buttercream comes out of the piping bag. There are certain (super simple) techniques you can use to your advantage to make sure those petals go EXACTLY where you want them to go. And I want to show you one of these techniques with this simple tutorial! So hit ‘SAVE’ so you can come back here later when you’re ready to give this a crack! A few tips 👇 🌟I USE a 125 petal tip for this one. Any petal tip will do though

Sangeeta Ghosh | Baking Academy on Instagram: "Fondant Rainbow Tutorial for MONSOONS 🌧️💦🌈 Working with fondant can be challenging during the monsoons, so here are some tips to help you achieve a perfect rainbow : - Add corn flour/ tylose powder to the fondant to speed up the drying process, ensuring that the inside dries evenly. - Once you’ve added the tylose powder or corn flour, grease your hands with shortening. This will prevent the fondant from sticking and give it a beautiful shine. - To prevent the final product from breaking, avoid rolling the fondant too thin. - I prefer using skewers & fondant base at the rainbow to ensure it’s stable and hold the same. - To dry : Preheat your oven at 100 degree Celsius and bake for 10mins. *Ensuring that you are working in an AC roo

Play around with it to see what you like 🐥 pipe the vines slowly with steady, even pressure. To avoid pulling the vines straight as you pull your tip away, squeeze a bit of extra pressure right before you pull off. It really does work even though it sounds counterintuitive. It just takes a bit of practice to get the hang of it 🤓 🐥 as always, please let me know with a like and

Emily | British Girl Bakes on Instagram: "5 hacks for smooth frosting on cakes: 1) Hold your offset spatula at a 45 degree angle as you spin the cake to smooth the top of the cake 2) Spread frosting upwards to make a wall or lip of frosting above the top edge of the cake, for sharp angles later (to prevent indents or gaps in the top edge) 3) Push your cake comb down on the cake board to line it up for straight sides on your cakes 4) Use a warm metal cake comb to remove air bubbles and leave a super smooth surface on the sides, 5) Push sideways (not down!) and then wipe your offset spatula as you work your way around the top edge of the cake, for best, sharp edges. I hope this is helpful! Do you struggle with smooth frosting? Tell me in the comments or ask any questions you have! #frosting
@cakestone20 on Instagram: "If you are struggling to achieve a rich red buttercream and the microwave method is not working for you or you don’t want to make it days ahead to give it time to develop, here are some quick tips on how to make it: 👉🏼 Use high quality concentrated pastes/gels (like sugarflair, americolor etc) where possible instead of liquidy, cheaper alternatives. You will not be using tons of colour which can sometimes leave a funny taste in your buttercream. 👉🏼 ALWAYS start out with a pink base - even the two quantities combined will be much less than the amount you would require if only using red! 👉🏼 Add the red in small increments until you reach the shade required. 👉🏼 This method works really well for American buttercream (demonstrated in this video). @cakestone20 on Instagram: "Two-toning buttercream 💜 There are a couple of ways to two-tone but this method is by far the easiest and the one we use regularly. It can be tricky if your buttercream is not firm enough - the two colours will start to mix together and it won’t look as effective 🧁 Using the right buttercream can make this easier (here we are using American BC) and it also helps to chill it for 5 minutes before you start lining the bag. If you don’t already have a good recipe for buttercream that’s smooth but firm, we have an in-depth video tutorial on our website (link in our bio) or simply comment ‘Buttercream’ below and we will DM you the details 😊 #reels #reelsofinsta #reelitfeelit #bakingreels #pinkcupcakes #reellife #cupcakereels #trendingreels #oddlysatisfying #cu
