BYZANTINE CLOISONNÉ RING. Constantinople?, 10th century, gold, enamel, bezel 13 x 14 mm. This ring has been reassembled in modern times by joining a reeded gold band with four gold granules to a circular flat roundel with floral design in red, blue, green and white cloisonné enamel. The cloisonné medallion is soldered at the junction of the bezel and the hoop, which has been flattened where it passes behind the bezel. Besides some pitting on the enamel surface.
