1.3 Culture can come under nationality and religion. It is important for all children to learn about each other's culture, not only will it show respect but also an understanding about different beliefs. The school implements this by organising and celebrating different cultural activities in the classroom and school. For example; Chinese new year,Christmas,Diwali and Eid. In my setting, we celebrated Chinese new year last term. We made dragons, lanterns and Chinese soup.
Equality Act 2010 This is a another very important legislation which came into effect in 2010. This law sets out the legal duties of school/college to give equal opportunity to all citizens.All member of staff must treat all children and young people fairly,equally and with respect.

1.2 All children and young people have right to education.Schools have responsibilities to ensure that all children have equal opportunities irrespective of their culture, gender, race, background or disability.

2.5 How to challenge discrimination Discrimination can take place either intentional or ignorance. It is imperative that discrimination should be challenged at all times when noticed. It can be difficult to challenge discrimination, particularly if it is institutional or practiced by a colleague. For a TA or any staff member to challenge any sort of discrimination activities will require a full understanding of policy, procedures and practice.

SEN and Disability Act 2001. This law provides policies and guidelines against any discrimination towards disability or special need. Our school have SEN Policy which ensures that people with special needs are met with their individual needs and ability.

Disability Discrimination Act 2005 This act imposes a duty for schools to create an inclusive setting.This act helps in making schools understand that they have to create a Disability Equality Scheme(DES) which should also include an access plan.This plan must indicate how discriminatory barriers are removed.for examples- ramps,lift,larger prints.This encourages schools to create a good and healthy environment where all children can participate in activities irrespective of their capabilities

3.3 Children have a variety of dietary needs and some with accordance to religious beliefs. In my setting at Barley lane the school provides the option of vegetarian food and non-vegetarian food which shows a good example of inclusion.
