A heavy cavalry sword, Hungary, circa 1600. Broad blade with a blunt tip. Rich decorative etching on the upper third showing the figures of two warriors (Abonis and Hiporis?) amid leafy vines and over Latin mottos. Iron, knucklebow hilt with long languets, thumb ring missing. Cut wave decoration on the obverse side. Leather covered grip (defects and small repairs) with typical iron pommel cap. Length 90 cm.
