Mary Queen of Scots, age 16 1542-1587 by Lady Finavon.  Born on 12/8/1542 at Linlithgow Palace, Scotland the child of Mary de Guise and James V.  Following the death of her father, she was sent to France for her education and marriage to the dauphin. When Francis I died in 1560, Mary returned to Scotland to find it under the influence of the Protestant, John Knox. Though she was the Queen, being a Catholic her position was difficult in a leading reformist protestant country.

1630 Charles II, king of England was born.  The 'Merry Monarch,' tea was introduced to England during his reign.  On December 23, 1675, he issued a proclamation suppressing Coffee Houses.  The public response was so negative that he revoked it on January 8, 1676.

Following her marriage to the Earl of Bothwell and a battle with the Scottish Lords she fled to England and was imprisoned by Elizabeth I.  After 19 years she was executed for treason

Caroline of Brandenburg-Ansbach (1683-1737), Wilhelmina Charlotte Caroline, was the queen consort of King George II of Great Britain.  They had eight children: Frederick, Prince of Wales; Anne, Princess Royal and Princess of Orange; Princess Amelia; Princess Caroline; Prince George William; Prince William, Duke of Cumberland; Princess Mary, Landgravine of Hesse; and Louise, Queen of Denmark and Norway.
