Edinburgh's Christmas and Hogmanay events are spectacular, not least of which is the torchlight procession headed up by Lerwick's Jarl's Squad. We watched the festivities this year from the Mound then walked to Calton Hill to see the fireworks and it was quite simply amazing. A great time to visit Edinburgh, but bring your woollies!
