Static Electricity is one of those topics that I feel is better understood by doing. So, I put together a video project in which students choose one method of charging (induction, conduction, or friction). They must them develop a demonstration of that method, video tape it, and correctly explain how this occurs (i.e. electron movement, charge attraction). Rather than "teach" this particular unit, I compile all video segments together and we have "movie day". They enjoy watching each other…
