Late Autumn skies have a faded softness to them. A pale, out of focus, washed out look which is seen clear into the approach of Spring. On those clear, crisp days marked by watery sunshine and biting cold, I can say we are truly in the heart of winter. This simple cowl, Autumn Skies, is really nothing more than a showcase for Flame lace and whatever lovely yarn your heart desires to use. I chose the yummy Cotton Merino from Americo Original; this soft, warm, scrunchy yarn has great stitch definition and comes in gorgeous colours. For a one skein project, just knit two full repeats (the sample was knit with 3 repeats which required another 1/3 or so of a second skein). A provisional cast on was used in order to work the crochet trim but this feature is optional. Part of Winter’s Heart.
