2024 UPDATE! Includes even more detailed stitch counts, and more detailed instructions for adult and plus sizes. Approximate sizing: Chest Size (around): 12-18 months: 20” / 51cm 2-3Y: 20-21” / 52-54cm 3-5Y: 21,5-23” / 55-58cm 6-8Y: 23-26” / 59-66cm 9-13Y: 27-31” / 68-79cm XS/S: 32-35” / 81-89cm M/L: 36-40” / 91-100cm XL++: 42” / 107cm upwards Pattern uses US terms, and is worked from the top down in one piece, no seams, no sewing. It is suited to intermediate or very confident beginner crochet skill level. Other suitable yarns are Scheepjes Whirl, or Hobbii Cotton Kings Sultan Deluxe, Sultan, Dahlia, Honolulu or Twister. You can also use Yarn Bee Rainbow Wrapsody, or Lion Brand Mandala. It works best when using a cake of gradient yarn (1-1,5 cakes/1000-1500 m for girls’ sizes, 2+ cakes/2000 m for adult sizes), in either fingering, fine, baby, sport or light DK weight. If you are not used to un-spun yarns like Sultan/Dahlia/Honolulu, I'd suggest rather using a spun yarn for this pattern. The pattern uses the “HDC into the 3rd loop” stitch. There are many great tutorials on this technique on the web. It is a bit difficult to explain inside the pattern, so please make sure you understand this technique before you start. BUT the pattern contains easier alternatives to puff stitches, as well as HDC3L stitches, if you hate those. I’ve tested this pattern many times, but if you find any errors, or anything you don’t understand, I’ll do my best to help.
