A youth's dark brown leather jerkin, decorated with vertical and diagonal scored bands, and diamond, heart and star pinking. The jerkin is fastened with decorative pewter buttons which imitate those fashioned from worked silk or gilt thread over a wooden core. Traces of silk stitching on the front suggest that the garment may have been lined during the 19th century.     Date  1555 AD - 1560 AD
