My Aunt Regina's Chicken Dumplings. Her notes: I triple the recipe for our family. The veggies in the broth is what makes it good. Re. shortening: I use those shortening sticks w/ the tblsp markings. I use about 1 1/2 to 2 tbl for each recipe, 5 for triple batch. By the time I get all the dumplings in the broth, the first ones are almost done. I cook them an additional 10 minutes and then put a lid on the pot and turn off the fire. This takes a huge pot to cook the whole chicken in.
