Tea Urn, 1769,  Creator:  Thomas Heming, goldsmith,  Provenance:  Supplied for Queen Charlotte (bill untraced). Silver gilt tea urn. Laurel bud finial; gadrooned detachable cover. Fluted body with applied foliate swags and CR monogram.Tap with ivory spigot. On stand with four hoof feet; on square plinth base with four paw feet. Fitted with circular burner cast with acanthus leaves.  Royal Collection Trust

Tea Machine, ca.1798, Old Sheffield Plate, glass. Made by Daniel Holy, Wilkinson & Co; slop basin by Roberts, Cadman & Co. Consists of a large central hot-water urn that holds 6 pints of water. The large urn can turn to supply the 2 smaller urns, that hold 3 pints each. One small urn is for coffee & one for tea. All the urns can be taken off the frame to be used separately. The slop basin was not originally sold with the machine. In trade catalogues  display a space for a slop basin if…
