From "Sarah Polk, First Lady of Style" exhibit; Columbia, TN. The exhibit states "In 1847, she ordered the cream silk satin with silk lace ball gown from Madame Oudot Manoury, one of the most fashionable couturiers in Paris, France." The Sarah Polk fashion exhibit runs through July, 2013.
