The Months (January-June) (1899)  These 6 medallions were used to illustrate the front cover of the magazine Le Mois Littéraire before being reproduced as a postcard.  Each medalion features a female figure posing against a natural background characteristic of the month depicted.

ALPHONSE MUCHA The Times of the Day (series) (1899) MOrNING AWAKENING>BRIGHTNESS OF DAY>EVENING CONTEMPLATION>NIGHTS REST In this series, Mucha combined fresh yet delicate colours with exuberant floral motifs.  Each woman is set within natural surroundings which reflects her mood. The whole is then enclosed in an elaborate ornamental frame reminiscent of a Gothic window.
