They taste best warm when the chocolate chips are melted and gooey. I'd skip the white chocolate ganache on top, the frosting is definitely for aesthetic purposes only. That is, however, just my two cents since I'm not too crazy about anything too sweet.
https://flic.kr/p/tVGk2n | Black Bottom Cupcakes [1/5] | Recently, I watched a vlog of a British YouTuber, Tanya Burr, where she filmed herself raving about Black Bottom cupcakes. I am never a cupcake person but this one piqued my interest enough to get me Googling for recipes straight after the video.
https://flic.kr/p/tWnUBU | Scallion Pancakes 葱油饼 [1/3] | I first had these Chinese-style flatbread at Xiamen when we were visiting our relatives there in 2007. Making the pancakes took a couple of hours. I did not get the right dough consistency despite following the recipe to a tee. Otherwise, it was a very successful attempt compared to the last time I tried. Like all recipes which require kneading, it's an itchy nose endurance training.
https://flic.kr/p/tEdhJx | Seafood Doria シーフードドリア [1/2] | Doria is essentially a western-inspired Japanese dish. The rice was cooked with carrots and onions in a light stock. Included in the bechamel sauce were prawns, salmon, squid, crabsticks, shimeji mushrooms and onions. Added a generous sprinkle of mozarella and into the broiler until you get a bubbling golden top.
This year, I challenged myself to a baking project with a Valentine's Day theme. You know you can't go wrong with chocolate. Once again, mom's bonsai is a useful photography prop. Even in the background.
