Taza Spanish Cup Hilt Rapier XVII th century. Taza Rapier, which means bowl in Spanish, XVII th century style. Rapiers came into use in the C., until the C, when they were worn more to designate status rather an for actual use.
Described as "Italian basket hilt rapier," I like the slender, fragile look of the branches which, together, make this a fantastically strong guard. The clamshell underneath the top-most rings are a curious but welcome bit of extra protection.
