I feel lucky to say that I’m heading in the right direction with my health journey and I know that my mental health would’ve come out of this so much worse if on top of everything else, I hadn’t had weightlifting. Well, maybe not with as much force, but it’s certainly an amazing reliever of anger and stress. Kickboxing originated in the 1960s and is a hybrid of punching and kicking that comes from martial arts – mainly Japanese-style practices. It was then adopted a number of years later in America in 1974, becoming very prominent in the country and beyond.
