Prehistoric lizard in a piece of amber

While amber is not a true stone/mineral, it is an amazing find! It comes from tree sap. The best amber is found in Poland. A lizard trapped in amber is an exquisite picture.

Tudor Era Ring circa 1550.  It is a cabochon garnet ring, 18 K with quite a few traces of the black enameling still surviving.  It all appears to be original, and in excellent condition.

Queen Elizabeth I The Phoenix Jewel by an Unknown Artist, The border is composed of Tudor roses (red Lancaster and white York combined) and sweetbriar roses (associated with the Virgin Mary) seemingly entwined by a snake (which symbolized wisdom).

Sapphire seal with the arms of Knyvett, made in England, c.1580 (source). The seal most likely belonged to Sir Thomas Knyvett the younger, who was knighted in 1579/80 when he was made High Sheriff of Norfolk. Sir Thomas was also married to the daughter of Queen Elizabeth I’s Treasurer of the Household.
