Helix love Helix is a yarn that I go back to over and over again. I have so many sweaters made in Helix and they haven’t moved at all, no matter how much I wear them. I love the flexibility that a laceweight yarn gives me: I can hold it double to create a sport weight, I can also double it with another yarn like Felix or Alix, Kumo or Mohair Silk. Helix just gives me all the options!

Helix and Felix are sisters, and they are meant to be together! Helix and Felix are from the same laceweight family: they were designed to have the same specs (650m for 100g). But they look and feel different: Helix is a grey base, whereas Felix is a white base. This means if we dye the same color on these two bases, it will look different: moody and heathered on Helix, bright and vibrant on Felix.

Bright and happy colors on Gilliatt!🌞 I love how some of our brightest La Bien Aimée colors look on Gilliatt. Pictured here are Sunrise, Fluoro Morganite, Seaglass and Peach Sweater. Gilliatt is a great French yarn made by @dererumnatura. We have the pleasure to dye on this collaborative base and it’s one of my favorites! Composed of French Merino d'Arles and Black Portuguese wool, Gilliatt is a non-superwash Worsted weight yarn with a great yardage.

Minis are perfect for yarn tasting! Did you know a lot of La Bien Aimée’s bases come in mini format? It’s great if you want to try a new yarn base, but aren’t sure if you will love it or what you want to make with it. On the La Bien Aimée website, you will find mini skeins of the following yarn bases: Alix, Felix, Helix, Merino Super Sock (in 20g and 50g), Cashmerino (50g), Merino Sport and Twist Nouveau. So if you haven't tried one of these yarns, a mini might be the right way to go!

La Bien Aimée Mondim

The first skeins of Mondim 🥰 Mondim is our first collaborative yarn base. Made by Rosa Pomar, Mondim is a beautiful non-superwash yarn made of portuguese wool. La Bien Aimée has had the pleasure of dyeing this base for a few years now, and it has remained a firm favorite! I wanted to share some of the first photos I took of La Bien Aimée Mondim, when we just started dyeing this yarn. I love seeing these photos that take me back to dyeing in our old atelier.

One of these is not like the others... A crochet granny square has slipped in between two knit swatches. This is the same color, our brand new anniversary color called Gui yeop da 귀엽다. This means "cute" in Korean, and I can honestly say this is the most adorable, sweetest color I have ever created. Gui yeop da is now available on a huge range of La Bien Aimée bases (including Merino DK, which was used to make these swatches). Find it now on the La Bien Aimée website!

Anemone is our beautiful lavender, it is one of our most popular colors. Coquelicot is a vibrant red, inspired by the color of poppies. Finally, Malachite is a green that shines like a jewel.
