Mid 19th century English leather and brass trimmed cartridge case made by William Cartwright in Norwich. This distinctive piece has high quality brass mounts with a leather handle and closes with straps. The interior is divided into two sections with leather strips to raise the ammunition. The outside measures 13 1/2" by 6" deep and 6 1/4" high. It has overall darkening on the leather which adds to the handsome effect.
