These tiles were added to the close around 1905 during internal modifications/upgrades to the building. They extend to the first half landing only. They were matched by the stained & painted glass windows to the back which were damaged beyond repair during building renovations in 1987. The same tiles exist in at least one tenement in Pollokshields in Glasgow. The building itself is Jas Salmon Senior & dates from 1866 & is was previously known as Kings Cross Place, Kings Cross being the…
