Eagle Catcher  This man is thought to be Sioux, probably from Northwestern Nebraska.  This is a posed shot.  Full-sized eagles were not caught by hand, but in baited pits.  Eagle feathers had special ceremonial significance to the Plains tribes.  Photographed in 1907 by Edward S. Curtis
