The last Princess of Cambridge (pictured left) with her daughter Mary and grandson Edward VII in 1894 Princess Mary of Cambridge, who shared the title with her older sister Princess Augusta, was born in 1833, the granddaughter of King George III and daughter of Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge, and Princess Augusta of Hesse-Cassel (who, in an extraordinary twist, named her brother George), and was brought up in Hanover, Germany.
