wakuneco applies the traditional technique of needle felting technique to creating incredibly realistic portraits of cats from needle felted wool.

Pets are like family. And for anyone who has lived with an animal, we know that losing one can be incredibly painful. But a Japanese artist who goes by the name Wakuneco helps cat-owners cope with that loss by creating realistic, three-dimensional felt portraits of their adorable kitty. W

Curiosity may not always kill the cat, but it can certainly frame it. This seems to be the mantra of this Japanese artist Fujita Satomi, who makes felt wool cat frames, where cats are immortalized with their head keenly popping out.

Japanese artist Wakuneco takes something as simple as wool and makes incredible hyper-realistic cat portraits. The artist uses wool of various different colors and creates 3D portraits of cats using needle felting techniques. On her Instagram, the artist shared that it's a very long and delicate work and it takes her about a month to complete one portrait, but the stunning result is worth the efforts.
