1. Put on several pairs of socks. I tried a really thick pair, then added a second for good measure.  2. Stuff your feet into your shoes.  3. Blast your shoes with hot air from a hair dryer (an amazingly useful tool) for about two minutes while flexing your toes and feet to stretch the tight areas.  4. Keep the socks and shoes on until the leather cools. Test out the shoes without socks, and repeat if necessary until they’re comfortable.
