a chicken coop with chickens in it sitting on the grass next to a wooden fence

This is a strawberry tower planter. The idea was taken from several other pins that used stair stringers and plastic garden boxes. To keep the birds out, I built a cage out of 2x4’s, stained them with a water protective stain/seal, then added chicken wire. For easy access I made swinging a door of 1x4’s and chicken wire on hinges to go over the front slanted section. It still gets plenty of sunlight and *hopefully* keeps the birds and critters out while letting the bees in to do their job!

three wooden boxes with plants growing out of them on the grass in front of some trees

Eddie made me a great raised strawbery bed this year. We had a great crop our first year. I was too impatient to do as recommended and pinch off the berry bunches the first year so the roots could get well established..but the strawberries were good! We had to put a fence around it and netting over the top to keep our chickens and other birds and critters out. It worked great!
