The Maple Leaf, designed by Yuankai Zhang, is folded from dyed washi. See PDF diagrams. This is a relatively straightforward model that I designed three years ago. The idea begins with a bird base and takes advantage of its many 22.5-degree angles. Although the diagram is drawn with reference to a duo-colored paper, the photographed model is actually made from dyed washi of the same color on both sides.
