Origami hexagon box tutorials

This is how I obtain hexagons from square pieces of paper... I don't know if it's a well known technique, I only want to share with you all :D

Hexagonal Box. Make two: remember the bottom half must be smaller so take off a centimeter or so to make the bottom a bit slimmer. Insert round so that the folded down corner is on the outside. The flaps left at the ends can be tucked in neatly.

A six-sided box, this design is from Origami Boxes by Tomoko Fuse. Each box requires 12 square pieces of paper, 6 for the bottom and 6 for the lid. I used 15cm x 15cm paper. Paper, washi chiyogami. Six-petal pinwheel design on lid. Paper, saika chiyogami tsuru. No scissors, glue or tape used! Inside of lid. This type of folding is also known as unit or modular origami.
