This species has chevron or v-shaped patterns pointing towards the head, which is also seen in many fishing spiders. Hobo spiders were once listed as medically significant. However, evidence collected over the years shows that their venom isn’t harmful to humans. You’ll experience pain and localized swelling when this spider bites you, but the venom doesn’t cause any serious damage.
