One of the most fabulous features of the Kips Bay Showhouse was the spiral staircase winding up the 5-story mansion which Toronto designer Philip Mitchell transformed into what might be the most stunning and epic gallery of art I’ve ever seen. The walls were covered in a beautiful, soft gray “Torridon” toile wallcovering from Mulberry that served as the perfect backdrop for hundreds of pieces of art, many from Philip’s own
