Munich Germany Olympic Stadium Olympiastadion (Olympic Stadium) was built as the main venue for the 1972 Summer Olympics. Designed by the German architect Günther Behnish and the engineer Frei Otto , the Olympic Stadium was considered revolutionary for its time.
