The Qilin/Kirin in Japanese and Chinese mythology was said to be a mythical hooved chimerical creature and appeared usually as a good sign for rulers, Sages or as good luck for people. The Kirin was said to have been ferocious looking, but incredibly peaceful which was an interesting mix to balance but all in all it was a really fun project.
