Eilene Johnson on Instagram: "Ever wonder how to sew a square in a square block? I’m showing 2 techniques!
Here are some tips:

- I used a 2 1/2” acrylic square template and fussy cut a strawberry in the middle.
- cut a background square at 5 1/2” (you can do any size center square-just add 3” to the size of the center square to get the measurement for the background square)
- lay the center square onto the background square in the middle, with the background square on the diagonal.
- use a piece of cardstock to use as a guide to fold over sides and press. Use a 1/4” seam to sew around all 4 sides.
- trim finished block using lines on a ruler to keep the square even and trim 1/4” away from the corners.
- for the outside square, cut 2 squares of fabric 1 1/2” larger than your finished block Patchwork, Square On Square Quilt Block, Crafts With Fabric Squares, Square Sewing Projects, Quilt Finishing Techniques, No Cut Quilt Block, Square In Square Quilt Block Tutorial, How Many Squares In A Quilt, Quilt Blocks Easy Free Pattern Squares
