If you have a cool season type of grass, you may want to look at doing more of a topsoil heavy blend. I like to put down a little fertilizer prior to, and after to ensure the Bermuda is growing aggressively through the sand. I water every other day for a week and is typically fully recovered in less than 2 weeks. The deeper the spot, the longer it takes.
