Back from the Kgalagadi, and were lucky enough to spot this one early one morning quite close to the road.

African Wildcat Felis silvestris cafra photographed in early morning light and in the wild in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. (Have a look at the next upload too.) The African Wildcat can easily be mistaken for a domestic cat, but note its reddish-brown ears and longish legs, the six vertical dark bands on the flanks, the horizontal dark bands on the legs, the rings on the tail and the black tip of the tail.
