Avro Anson was a British-built twin-engine multi-role aircraft that served with numerous air forces before and at the start of World War II.Named after British Admiral George Anson, it was originally designed as an airliner, the Avro 652, before being re-developed for military use as a maritime patrol bomber. While it did see action, the aircraft became a training platform soon after the war began, being replaced by planes such as the Armstrong Whitworth Whitley and Lockheed Hudson.
