Broken link but I want to remember the activity. Have students wrinkle up the paper heart and then try to flatten it out. Talk about how words or actions can harm a heart and take time to heal.... Good first week of school activity!
Middle school bulletin board idea: "Believe in your #selfie" Have each student take a selfie and put it up with a #adjective that describes them. "Do something today for which your future self will thank you." The kids love seeing their faces in the hallway and it builds a grade-level community too.
Use this activity as an ice breaker for the first week of school or as a classroom community builder. I have my students sit in a circle around our carpet, and I project the "Roll a topic" sheet up on the SmartBoard. Each student takes a turn rolling the dice and answering the corresponding question.
