This is a really cool project-based approach to the story "Stone Soup." The class read different versions of the story and then made and ate their own stone soup and wrote their own version of the story. Students could do a lot of research on legends and traditions, as well as about recipes and cookbooks and how to make soup.

I would use this as a fun activity for students to tell a story around Thanksgiving time.

The kids all brought in veggies to make our own stone soup.  To encourage them to try it, they all got to bring home this very special memento.  It was a great incentive. :)
