Wanted to try some low key work. Shoot through umbrella strobe to the right 1/16th, snooted strobe 1/4 power to the left to light the smoke. Originally planned for the soft light to be the main, but the snooted strobe has also made some specular highlights of the candle and the holder. More by luck than judgement, this has given the whole thing some good depth and contrast. This is not what I had in mind whit this picture. I wanted a low-key b&w Christmas ball .. and that's what i got, but.. I had something different in mind. I am very pleased with this result, it looks pretty decent. At first I wasn't that pleased, but I came to like it. Anyway, this is shot handheld with my fellow 50mm [UPDATE 07.01.2012]: OMG, I'm explored! For the first time! Awesome! www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/2012/01/06/page33/
