It's fabric, spray adhesive, a rubber rug backer. I folded over and hot glued the edges. I then applied two good coats of water-based satin poly. The result is a water-proof/ spill-proof kitchen accent rug that keeps my tile floor protected.

Rug. Cut 2.5 inch squares of knit fabric. Can use old t-shirts, grandmas double knit pants etc. Fold into triangles and sew onto a heavy fabric, such as denim or duck cloth. Draw lines one inch apart on your backing fabric. These will be your stitching lines.
