Aqua Cones work with any soil type because they were designed with punch-out holes near the top for sandy soil, near the middle for loam, and near the bottom for heavy soils. Make a self-watering planter: Cut bottom off empty plastic bottle. Poke a hole in the bottle cap using wooden skewer. Fill with water, making sure you get a slow drip of water through the hole with skewer in it. Put in your flower or vegetable planter, making sure skewer is in the dirt to hold the bottle. Great for hanging planters to keep them watered! Refill with rain water or hose as needed.
