Make a Map Digital Project in Google Drive™️ is a great way for students to explore map skills. It would even be a nice addition to a social studies unit on communities. This paperless activity can be used as an independent project or collaborative project in which students work together to create an interactive map. Google Slides™️ and Google Drawing™️ are used. Step by step directions, video tutorial and editable rubric are all included.

The United States Activity Packet has a large variety of activities that focus on map skills, states, and geographical features. Student will enjoy working with atlas', globes, and internet resources to discover facts and features of the United States This would be a great addition to any United States study and ties in perfectly with the Montessori Study of a Nation project.

This Project Based Learning idea was a hit with my elementary students! They loved diving into map skills and landforms and, of course, burying their own treasure! This is a great way to introduce PBL activities in an engaging way. This PBL resource includes rubrics and step-by-step directions. A great way to assess map skills in your 21st Century classroom!
