DIY FirePit for $20: Buy a 15 gallon wash pail from Lowe's.  They are only about 15 dollars.  Get four bricks as well  (about 4 dollars).  Put the bricks inside the pail.  Spread them out flat, to cover the bottom of the pail, and then set your logs on top of the bricks.  This allows for airflow under your logs to keep the fire going.
