Aimée Crocker (December 5, 1864 – February 7, 1941) was an American heiress, princess, Bohemian, world traveler, mystic and author best known for her purple hair, her adventures in the Far East, her extravagant parties and for her collections of husbands and lovers, adopted children, Buddhas, pearls, tattoos and snakes. Plus she wrote a memoir called "And I'd Do It Again".

Margaret Mitchell, pictured above in 1941, started writing while recovering from an ankle injury in 1926. She had read her way through most of Atlanta's Carnegie Library, so her husband brought home a typewriter and said: "Write your own book to amuse yourself." The result was Gone with the Wind.

May 17th 1989 Gilda Radner was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for a CAT scan. Because she was fearful that she would never wake up, she was given a sedative but passed into a coma during the scan. She did not regain consciousness and died three days later from ovarian cancer at 6:20 am on May 20, 1989; Gene Wilder was at her side.

While working with the Coast Guard, Elizebeth and her husband, William Friedman, helped to create the Coast Guard's first official code book. While working for the Coast Guard during the Prohibition era, she decoded over 12,000 rum-runners’ messages. In 1933 her efforts resulted in convictions against thirty-five bootlegging ringleaders found to have violated the Volstead Act.
