Bruno Taut, Köln - Glass Pavillion
Bruno Taut’s Glashaus built for the Deutscher Werkbund exhibition of 1914. The concrete and glass pavilion - with its coloured prismatic roof and glass brick walls – demonstrated the full range of vitreous architectural applications afforded by science. The Cologne exhibition also featured notable works by Walter Gropius and Adolf Meyer (a model factory) and a prototype theatre by Henry van de Velde.
