Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark (b. 10 June 1921), 5th and youngest child and only son of Princess Alice of Greece and Denmark, nee of Battenberg. Exiled from his homeland as a baby, Philip grew up and was educated in France, Germany, and Britain. In 1928, as his family was beginning to crumble, he went to live with British relatives. Philip joined the Royal Navy in 1939, the same year he began corresponding with a certain teenager who would later become Queen of England and his wife.
