This simple activity encourages students to use critical-thinking skills, and is sure to become a favorite of your students! Display a poster similar to the one shown. Then choose four cards programmed with pictures, letters, or numbers and attach them to the poster. Invite a volunteer to choose a picture he thinks doesn’t belong with the other three and explain why. There are no right or wrong answers plus students love explaining the reasoning behind their choices.
